## About

Intikhabet.com is an interactive web platform that allows users to simulate Lebanese parliamentary election outcomes across all 15 electoral districts. The platform also provides access to complete 2022 election results and enables users to model various electoral scenarios by adjusting vote counts, creating new electoral lists, and analyzing how seat distribution changes under different conditions.

## Purpose

Our mission is to make Lebanese parliamentary election data accessible, understandable, and interactive for all. We serve political parties, independent candidates, journalists, advocacy organizations, political enthusiasts, embassies, and think tanks with data-driven electoral analysis tools.

## Lebanese Electoral System

Lebanon uses a proportional representation system implemented in 2018 and used again in 2022. Key features:

- **Electoral Quotient**: Total valid votes divided by available seats. Lists must receive at least one full electoral quotient to qualify.
- **Seats Quotient**: Total votes of qualified lists divided by number of seats. Used for actual seat distribution.
- **Largest Remainder Method**: After assigning full quotient seats, remaining seats are distributed to lists with the highest fractional remainers.

- Bekaa I (Zahle): 7 seats
- Bekaa II (West Bekaa - Rachaya): 6 seats
- Bekaa III (Baalbek - Hermel): 10 seats
- South I (Saida - Jezzine): 5 seats
- South II (Sour - Zahrani): 7 seats
- South III (Nabatieh - Bint Jbeil - Marjayoun - Hasbaya): 11 seats
